Ask The Imam Question and Answer

1149 I work in a place where I am constantly around non Muslims who are backbiting, saying bad things about people behind their backs, making remarks etc... I can’t really get away from this in an office, is it better to look for a different job?
The easy option would be to leave this job for another one, but you cannot say with certainty that your new employment (when you find it) will be much better. Unfortunately many Muslims and non Muslims alike find it fruitful in indulging in such conversations as it has become a norm.

It is paramount that you do not indulge into their conversations and fall into the Shaitaans trap as they have, as this road leads to destruction.

It would be better to practice the teachings of our Beloved Prophet (S.A.W) and slowly educate these individual(s) as to what they are doing, through dialogue as well as through character. Maybe one day they will see the errors of their ways.

May Allah (S.W.T) reward you. (Ameen)
