Ask The Imam Question and Answer

573 I have deliberately broken my fast last year. The thing is that I tried several times to fast 60 days, but I couldn't because I was afraid of telling people around me why I was doing it.

Now I'm thinking of feeding 60 people. I thought of making a donation to Human Relief Foundation, a Muslim association who proposes donations as a meal for fasting. Will this effective be as a way of feeding 60 people and so be forgiven for my terrible Sin.
The Kaffarah for breaking a fast is to keep 60 consecutive fast, or free a slave, or to feed the poor two meals a day.

The best method is to fast 60 days if that can not be done for a genuine reason, rather then an excuse then you may feed the poor instead.
