Salah - Part 1

Salah occupies a lofty position in Islam. Its fulfilment is the foremost duty of a Muslim after one has brought faith in the Oneness of Allah (S.W.T) and the finality of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W).

“(O Esteemed Beloved!) Recite that Book which has been revealed to you and establish Prayer. Surely Prayer prohibits indecency and impiety; and verily the remembrance of Allah is the greatest. And Allah knows whatever (deeds) you do.” (Surah Al-Ankabut, verse 45)

It is one of the most special act of Divine worship which one is called upon to perform five times daily. The pages of the Quran and AHadith are full with injunctions which order us to establish Salah. It is of such paramount importance that it has been described as a pillar and foundation of faith.

Salah, if offered with a sincere heart, proper devotion and mental concentration, it would contribute to the cleansing of the heart, ridding it of the impurities of sin and ultimately transforming one’s entire life. It creates love for piety and brings the creation closer to its Creator (S.W.T).

Islam is undoubtedly the true ambassador of peace and the opponent of evil. These days there are thousands of organisations who are trying to work against evil and try to safeguard the rights of people. Despite these organisations offering great support and help, the tide of evil is getting bigger.

People are evermore being drowned in the flood of sin. Those that claim to protect the rights of people are themselves at the forefront of this evil. Today, every strong group is playing with the blood of weaker groups. Every strong country is planning to destroy the weaker ones in order to impose their superiority.

The Quran states that if you want to remove evil from the world, then come into the fold of Islam and be punctual in Salah. You will see the evils disappearing automatically.

If everyone became punctual and sincere in Salah, no one will infringe or
attack the rights of others, play on the weakness of others, nor go towards evil. Salah is the means for peace and tranquillity, and is the important tool in obtaining a pious life, which intern creates a harmonious environment.
