Salah - Part 2

It is compulsory for every sane and adult Muslim to pray Salah five times daily. To deny that it is obligatory is infidelity, and missing it without any Shar'ee excuse is a serious sin.

Today we engage in Salah, but a lot of us are guilty of just simply going through the motion and not paying any attention to the meanings. We quickly offer prayer and just peck the ground a few times and we are out.

We have reached ages of 30, 40, 50+ years yet still fail to understand the words of Salah, is this not an embarrassment? Often people affirm that although they know the words in Arabic but lack the understanding in what is being read.

We urge you to make an extra effort to understand the words you are saying in Salah. By doing this not only will you feel more spiritually connected to Salah, but also will reap many blessing, ultimately resulting in your life changing for the better.

In the coming days, Janathi Message team have created some bite size learning topics for you to learn Salah with translation, along with some basic rules (according to the teachings of Hanafi Fiqh). The intention for these topics is for you to learn, understand, and implement your Salah in the perfect manner, as taught by our Beloved Prophet (S.A.W).

Salah is the ascension (Miraj) for a believer. If we perform Salah having this thought in our minds and feeling in the hearts, only then can we really understand the true meanings of Salah. We should try to feel a proximity to Allah (S.W.T) as though we are present before Him (S.W.T), at the time of performing Salah.

A person who is not aware of being in the presence of Allah (S.W.T) is preoccupied with his commercial and trade affairs or constantly thinks about other matters while performing Salah, he is not considered to have established his prayer properly.

We ask Allah (S.W.T) by Waseela of His Rasool (S.A.W) to make us steadfast on our Deen, and give us the ability to truly love and understand this blessed gift. Ameen.
