Ramadan 2010 (Pearls of Light)

The Blessed Daughters of Holy Prophet (S.A.W)

Hazrat e Sayyidah Zainab (R.A)

She (R.A) was the eldest of all of the Prophet's (S.A.W) daughters and was born 10 years before the proclamation of Prophethood in Makkah Shareef. Hazrat e Sayyidah Zainab (R.A) became a Muslim at the very beginning of Islam, after the Battle of Badr, and made Hijrat to Madina Shareef on the request of Rasoolullah (S.A.W).

Sayyidah Zainab (R.A) passed away in 8 AH and was given Ghusal by Sayyidah Umme Aiman (R.A), Sayyidah Saudah bint Zam'ah (R.A) and Sayyidah Umme Salmah (R.A). The Beloved Prophet (S.A.W) gave His blessed clothing as a Kaffan, and assisted in the burial.

Hazrat e Sayyidah Ruqayyah (R.A)

She (R.A) was born 7 years prior to Rasoolullah (S.A.W) announcing Prophethood. She passed away at the age of 20. This was on the day that Hazrat Zaid bin Haarith (R.A) arrived in the city bringing news of the victory at Battle of Badr. Rasoolullah (S.A.W) could not attend her Janazah Salah due to not having returned yet from the Battle of Badr.

Hazrat e Sayyidah Umme Kulthum (R.A)

She (R.A) was born 6 years prior to Rasoolullah (S.A.W) announcing Prophethood. She (R.A) was first married to Ateeba (the son of Abu Lahab), however due to him being compelled by his father, Ateeba gave Sayyidah Umme Kulthum (R.A) talaaq (divorce). Hazrat e Sayyidah Umme Kulthum (R.A) later married Hazrat Usman e Ghani (R.A).

She passed away in the month of Shabaan, 9 AH. Her Janazah Salah was performed by the Holy Prophet (S.A.W), and is buried in Jannatul Baqi.

Hazrat e Sayyidah Fatima (R.A)

She (R.A) was the youngest and most beloved to Rasoolullah (S.A.W). Allama Ibn Jauzi states that she was born 5 years before the announcement of Prophethood. (Zarqaani, Vol. 3, Pg. 202-3)

Hazrat e Sayyidah Fatima (R.A) was married to Hazrat Ali (R.A) in 2 AH. They had 5 children, 3 sons (Hazrat Hassan, Hussain and Mohsin (R.A)) and 2 daughters (Hazrat Zainab and Umme Kulthoom (R.A)).

However some Scholars have stated that there were 3 daughters, the last one being Hazrat Ruqayyah (R.A).

Hazrat e Sayyidah Fatima (R.A) passed away on the 3rd of Ramadan, 6 months after the demise of our Beloved Rasoolullah (S.A.W). Her Janazah Salah was led by either Hazrat Abbas (R.A) or Hazrat Ali (R.A), and she was buried, in Jannatul Baqi. (Madaarij, Vol. 2, Pg. 461)
